not my own thought

photo taken by st from this collection.

i spent my entire day indoors today. it was rainy. cold. just plain bleak outside.

and so, i embraced my rainy day predisposition as an excuse to be lazy and indulged in a day of

tea
sleep
christmas movies
reading
hot chocolate

it was just the remedy necessary for my emergence from a long week of ongoing illness plagued by nausea and dreadful headaches on top of one too many vomit sessions with my toilet.

anyway
,

i'm pleased to report that my body feels a significant improvement. my brain, though, hasn't yet found the 'on' switch. because of this, i present the work and ideas of others in lieu of my own creative rambling.

a fellow blogger and friend from home recently posted her list of things (see below) on her blog. it is, essentially, a list of goals to be accomplished. i really loved the idea and am now stealing it from her (thanks, catherine =)

here are my 5 things for the foreseeable future:

1. drink guiness (or maybe 3) on christmas

2. get a hair cut in london

3. really put forth the effort to learn and speak more of this language

4. run (the athens) marathon in 2009

5. enjoy every moment of life here, even the bad ones

check out this site: 43 things. (looking for additional motivation? visit here, too!)

the picture above is an exquisite product of st, a fellow volunteer and close friend. you can read of his adventures here and here.

i love this picture, its energy, the light and the darkness. st, i couldn't wait to post this picture.

when i have fully conquered the battle of the mysterious illness(es?), i will attend to rectifying my negligences (like my emails!), i promise.

there is nothing quite so disorienting as being sick in a place this unfamiliar or so far removed from big comfy duvets on big comfy beds and a steaming bowl of campbells' chicken soup within arm's reach.
